Your tree-loving girlfriend will love these earthy Valentine’s Day gifts

If the love in your life happens to be a tree hugging, oil rubbing, bath bombing, recycling baby, this is the gift guide for you!

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and we could all use a little extra love this year! The pandemic has made finding love a particularly difficult task, but lesbians have proven they can find love in any hopeless place. For those of you who have tried your luck with a new love, rekindled an old love, or are just looking to spend time with that special someone, what better day to celebrate that love than Valentine’s Day?

Of course, that probably means buying your love a little something to show him how much you care. And if your loved one is, like me, a lover of art, self-care, and all things earthly, crisp, and spiritual, you might have a hard time figuring out exactly what to buy for her. Luckily, I’m here to help! Throughout the pandemic, I’ve become an expert on small businesses that cater to earth goddesses like me. So if the love in your life happens to be a tree-hugging, oil-scrubbing, bath-bombing, recycling baby, this is the gift guide for you! (And if anyone reads this and likes me, I’d like something from these designers for Valentine’s Day, if I haven’t already specified).

Upful Blends

Created by Chantel Robertson, Upful Blends is an assortment of supplements and tea. Chantel has researched the various effects that herbal combinations have on body, mind, and spirit through her own use. She now shares her experiences, as well as information on the benefits teas and supplements can have on a variety of ailments. All herbs used in blends and supplements are grown in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way. I would recommend gifting a “Love for the Lymph” blend to your loved one. It’s a nice entry into those specialty blends.

Beauty herbs and tea

Abril is one of my favorite farmers on Instagram. First, she gardens and cultivates while dressing for the gods. I thought I was the only person doing the dirty work with my beaten face! Herbs for various teas are some of her favorite things to grow and she started sharing this love of teas by opening her own online tea shop. It offers a range of tea blends for general well-being and even offers an option for a custom blend. She also helps expand the herbalist community and offers courses in herbalism and the tea trade to those who are interested. If you know your down to earth well, a tea party or class should be an amazing gift for her!

OLJ Creations

In my opinion, there is never a bad time for a big hoop! With a focus on earrings and anklets, OLJ’s Ophélie designs always come in new releases. She specializes in color combinations, sparkles and anything that catches the eye. She also does custom orders and has created winter and star sign collections. I don’t know about you, but nothing makes me feel more in tune with my spirit than a pair of tall bamboo trees that scream “Capricorn!” “My goal is to make my fans feel beautiful, confident and warm when they wear my designs. Like Valentine’s Day, it’s everyday,” Ophelia told GO.

Beadwork by Ari

I should start sending Ariana a weekly jewelry check because the pieces she creates take my breath away every time. There is absolutely no limit to the things they can create with a beading needle. The beadwork is a connection for Ari to his past, his tribal ancestry and a home they are far from. You feel that love embedded in everything they create. The gravitational pull I have towards their mushroom earrings is surreal. They would definitely be my choice for Valentine’s Day.

“As an Indigenous artist, creating art with intention is essential. I give up a part of myself in every piece of beadwork I create, so it’s extremely important to me that these pieces I send out into the world are filled with love, respect, gratitude and energy. positive,” Ari told GO. “Seeing people wear my work, whether for big events or on a daily basis, fills me with joy. It was one of the most enriching experiences of my life.

Eternal Light Candle

A candle is never a bad gift, but you sure can’t go wrong with a candle that says, “Look at you having your own apartment and all that.” Do you like candles that smell like cereal? Cinnabars? Pies? The Eternal Light candle has a candle for everyone and the presentation, quite literally, is good enough to eat. From their cinnamon crunch candle that looks like cinnamon crunch, to their cupcake style candles that shout encouragement at you, they really do have a candle for everyone. You can also ask them to customize it for you! Specific recommendations? Whatever! I would buy anything they have in stock if I could.

Brush By Vegalia

Vegalia has assembled a group of 14 color artists to design a coloring book filled with ethereal fairies, nymphs, and every other magical creature you can imagine. In doing so, Vegalia bequeathed us a childhood dream that I never thought I would realize: the characters of Black Magical. A multidisciplinary artist herself, Vegalia does everything from designing specialized brushes that make digital drawing of natural hair accessible to all artists, to well… taking us back to our childhood with delightfully crafty and inclusive coloring books.

Zola Art Factory

What earth queen wouldn’t want to be surrounded by other earth queens? If you want to gift your earth goddess well…herself, I suggest you visit Zola Art Factory! Prints, stickers, coloring books, you name it and Brittany Anne sells it and they all feature black and brown women. Her pieces encapsulate the true beauty of black and brown women and surround them with magnificent flora and fauna. Her pieces are big and bold and don’t shy away from earth tones. They would make great gifts for new apartments or to breathe life into a bedroom. “I draw as a form of self-care and a form of escape. I’ve drawn most of my life, so that’s a big part of who I am. Brittany Anne tells GO.

Tap Root Goods

How cool are handmade brooms??? Sav of Tap Root Goods is an Afro-Indigenous farmer, herbalist and artisan who sells both herbal products and hand-woven brooms that differ in size, shape and custom touches . They are also fully compostable! Sav actively reconnects with traditional practices and often speaks of the ancestral connections and spirituality of broom making and the act of sweeping.

We are shameless

Lingerie and underwear are always a ~fun~ Valentine’s Day gift. Not just because you can be playful in a different way, but because it encourages us to flaunt all the goodness the universe has blessed us with (or the goodness we’ve blessed ourselves with). At We Are Unapologetic, each piece of lingerie and pajamas is sewn by hand. Yes, you read that right. Individually handcrafted because CEO Chey is just that good. AND it offers sizes from XXS-7X and 28A-55N. Because Chey makes every piece herself, once a set is sold, you may not see it again. Nothing says self-care better than walking around in something that makes you feel sexy; your earthy, crunchy lady knows this well and will appreciate having something new to do it with.

FullCircle26, Inc.

If your earth goddess wants to grow her all year round, and not just in the warmer months, FullCircle26, Inc should be your next stop! Specializing in hydroponics and sustainability, FullCircle offers different options for every type of grower. From growing in your own home to teaching youngsters how to grow their own food sources, FullCircle has something for everyone. For a simplistic option I would suggest buying anything in the Microgreen series! Small light bulb terrariums grow a small amount of greenery or cute plants and include everything you would need to get started. Although a more experienced grower might enjoy something like the Grow Cube, Grow Frame or O2 Light Farm. I mean, I would appreciate them. Index index.

Hope this thread of amazing businesses gives you some great inspiration for this upcoming Valentine’s Day. Be patient with these companies and know that you are buying something unique that someone has put their love into! If you shop with one of these companies and your Earthy Goddex likes their gift (which I know they will), please shout out the company online and tell them who sent you! Happy Valentine day!
