Tucked away in the coastal town of Seal Beach, McKenna’s Tea Cottage is a quaint, upscale teahouse where you can sip tea and get yourself a real English tea!
The tea room opened in 2011 and specializes in afternoon tea as well as soups, salads, pastries and other homemade delicacies. From the whimsical setting to the wide selection of English teas, you are bound to fall in love with this unique place.
McKenna’s Tea Cottage offers 38 varieties of specialty teas, including caffeinated, decaffeinated, McKenna’s Special Blend, and Manchester Tea (a blend of white tea and herbal tea.) There are so many great flavors to choose from, such as plum, chocolate mint, Vermont maple, hazelnut and mango!
When you visit McKenna’s, you will enjoy a real English afternoon tea. There are a variety of experiences to choose from, but Royal Tea is perhaps the most popular. It includes a pot of tea, soup and salad, five assorted tea sandwiches, homemade scones, fruit, and a three-piece dessert.
For children, the Prince & Princess Tea option is just perfect. It’s for kids 10 and under and includes a teapot (or lemonade), your choice of sandwiches (PB&J, turkey, ham or cheese), and a buttermilk scone with whipped cream and raspberry jam. Delicious!
With an atmosphere as warm as Grandma’s house, McKenna’s Tea Cottage is a great place for a shower, party, or other festive event. Locals love this place so much that it is often full, so be sure to make your reservation well in advance.
