Karl Strauss and Boochcraft unveil their collaboration: a grapefruit and hibiscus IPA | New

SAN DIEGO, June 23, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Each quarter, Karl Strauss Brewing Company releases its latest release in its highly anticipated Collaboration Series. For this tour, the company has teamed up with fellow San Diego local Boochcraft Organic Hard Kombucha to bring craft beer and Hard Kombucha fans something to fall in love with. Inspired by the brewing process frequently used in making Hard Kombucha, When Worlds Collide Grapefruit Hibiscus IPA makes its statewide debut on June 23.

With over 30 years of craft beer brewing expertise under their belt, Karl Strauss’ team was eager to collaborate with the pros at Boochcraft and explore a familiar, yet totally new world: tea and beer. plants.

“We have real master craftsmen in our brewing team, but one thing we had never experienced was infusing a beer with tea and herbs. The Boochcraft team is very good at this process, our team so was excited to learn from her.We found that combining the right botanicals enhanced the hop characteristics of this IPA in a unique way resulting in this beautiful hybrid beer that falls somewhere between a Hard Kombucha and a San Diego-style IPA.

– Paul Segura, Master Brewer, Karl Strauss Brewing Company

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to work with the legendary team at Karl Strauss Brewing Company. They have brought an incredible depth of knowledge and mastery of fermentation science to create an unprecedented collaborative product. By pairing an IPA of style Familiar and exceptional San Diego with Boochcraft’s botanical signature, we’ve created an exceptional beer with increased depth in aroma, flavor and mouthfeel Crisp, clean, refreshing, with just the right balance of fruit, hops and plants; these are really two worlds that collide in the best way!

– Kyle Oliver, R&D Manager, Boochcraft

Although inspired by Hard Kombucha, the finished product is a beer through and through. When Worlds Collide is an India Pale Ale brewed with Citra, Cascade and Sequoia hops, as well as grapefruit, dried hibiscus, black tea and ginger. It is deliciously lemony, supported by a slight acidity and warming herbaceous notes. This IPA will be released Thursday, June 23 in 4oz 16oz packs and on tap at all Karl Strauss breweries, as well as finer craft beer establishments in California and Arizona.
