Want some outdoor adventure but hate traveling too far from home?
Gather your tribe and head to Vacaville this weekend for the Pleasants Valley Agriculture Association’s 5th Annual Open Farm Day.
From 9am to 3pm Saturday and Sunday, visit local farms and learn what they do. At the same time, browse their wares and buy some to take home, take great photos, explore nature, and make new human and animal friends.
As area residents continue to rebuild after the devastating LNU Lightning Complex fire a few years ago, this year’s event will be smaller but no less impactful, organizers said.
“Farm Open Days are a great time to meet local farmers and learn about life on the farm. Even though this year’s event is smaller than those in the past, we still wanted to offer our farms as a sanctuary for those looking to get out into the country and relax a bit,” said Soul Owner Alexis Koefoed. Food Farm, in a press statement.
This year’s open house locations include:
• Soul Food Farm, 6046 Pleasants Valley Rd.: Open farm stand, picnic, great for taking pictures, relaxing. Other farmers here: Lockewood Acres and Zinger Ranch Farm Sanctuary.
• Be Love Farm, 7071 Bucktown Lane: Open farm stand and open farm for walks and picnics (sorry, no tours), great for taking pictures, farm animals.
