When I got up on Saturday morning to start the New Year and feed my cows, the temperature was 32 degrees below zero. As far as some people complain, however, I thought there are some really good things that cold is good for …
It’s really easy if you live out of town to bring home your ice cream or anything cold if you’ve had to deal with this: Stick it out the window as you drive home.
One day about a week ago there was a wonderful sundog just at sunrise (for those not connected to the wonders of the outdoors, sundogs happen when ice crystals are hanging in the air. Yes, I said ice cream .)
I did not notice an article on the number of COVID-19 cases in recent times. There is nothing better for eliminating colds, flu or viruses like a little 10 below zero. When the kids go out for recess, the disease really takes a hit. Maybe a little more outdoor playtime would work better than a third booster shot for your 12 year old.
Each information station in town makes a story about the cold and some of the travel problems that arise in Montana. PERFECT. Hopefully they will be seen by millions of people on social media, which will prevent them from wanting to come here.
Weather channels don’t seem to really care about us until we hit 20 below or 50 below the wind chill. That’s okay, let the rest of the country know it’s like that until June when it finally warms up. Of course, there are a lot of things the cold isn’t good for, but as someone who really loves a bowl of ice cream that’s still frozen, it was nice to be able to bring it home without having to go. hurry.
