Caroline Brosnihan is the owner of Connacht Nutrition and Dietetics Clinic. Established in 2014, the clinic is located at N5 Business Park, Castlebar. Caroline is a CORU Registered Dietitian and member of INDI and HCPC, having graduated with Honors in Nutrition and Dietetics from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen.
Caroline offers nutritional consultations for healthy diets, weight loss, weight gain, heart health, irritable bowel disease, celiac disease, hypertension, high cholesterol, diabetes, PCOS, early kidney disease, gout, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular disease, arthritis, osteoporosis, sports nutrition and fertility nutrition. The clinic also offers workshops and webinars on workplace wellness, as well as conferences and webinars on sports nutrition.
Caroline has extensive experience in sports nutrition. A graduate of a postgraduate degree in sports nutrition from St Mary’s University, Twickenham, she was a dietitian with the Mayo GAA senior team from 2014 to 2019, Mayo GAA pitchers and Mayo Camogie in 2021. Caroline specializes in gut health nutrition and trained to provide the Low FODMAP Diet since 2013 and provides a tailored nutrition plan to help clients manage their symptoms.
Caroline also specializes in fertility nutrition, providing expert, evidence-based advice for optimal fertility and reproductive health, from preconception to postpartum.
She said: “Dietitians are regulated health professionals who can help you look beyond fads and gimmicks and provide you with evidence-based nutritional information.
“Parts of dietary costs are reimbursed by health insurance companies in Ireland, please refer to your policy for details. You may be referred by your GP or consultant or you may refer yourself.”
